"My First Experience with a Dormitory" and "Oshamanbe-kun"【22】
Day 5【2014/8/23】
in Hokkaido
Woke up at 5 in the early morning.
It's helpful that the first trains in big cities start early.
Got a bit lost as many underground passages were closed.
Used the Sea of Japan route when I came, but took the Pacific Ocean route on the way back.
"Tomakomai Station"
There was a complex-like building in front of the station.
Perhaps due to the early hour, there were few people around.
"Higashi-Muroran Station"
A station notable for its vibrant red color.
It was cloudy and looked like it might rain when I left Sapporo, but it gradually cleared up. It's strange how the sky feels so vast in Hokkaido.
There wasn't anything particularly notable around the station.
Bought a banana and a meat bun at Seven Eleven for breakfast.
The side view is even redder.
The inside of the station was spacious and clean.
The clear sky and vast ocean viewed from the train window. I think seeing such unexpected scenery is one of the charms of traveling with a Seishun 18 Ticket.
It's Oshamanbe Station after a whole day.
Had some time before the transfer, so I took a stroll around the station.
Suddenly, a mysterious mascot character appeared. (Oshamanbe-kun)
The road in front of the station leads to the sea.
There were a few other Seishun 18 Ticket holders besides me.
Sat on the embankment and gazed at the sea until the train time.
Lying down in the gentle climate with a pleasant sea breeze, looking up at the sky, I felt the reality of being on a journey.
(Already the 5th day)
Suddenly thought of that and various emotions welled up.
(Hokkaido is vast~)
(Never thought I'd really come to Hokkaido~)
(It was a long way from Shizuoka~)
(The seagulls are crying~)
(What should I have for dinner~)
(Where should I stay tonight~)
Back to Hakodate. (It took 163 minutes from Oshamanbe)
This is where I arrived last night and departed in the morning, but there was a sense of relief. Thinking calmly, this trip was a continuous journey of first landings, as I was always on the move. Maybe I was always unconsciously tense.
I was planning to go see the night view, but had some time so did a little sightseeing.
Western-style buildings
Red brick warehouses
Even Starbucks is stylish
Enjoyed Hakodate's specialty, salt ramen.
It started to get dark, so I headed to Mount Hakodate.
On the way, there were couples everywhere, and my mental...
The ropeway was crowded with people.
It was a bit cloudy, but I was able to see a nice night view.
I enjoyed it even by myself.
On the way back, I went to a hot spring. The water in this hot spring was quite hot.
I stayed at this guesthouse.
Come to think of it, this was my first time in a dormitory.
I shared the room with a man in his 40s who was obsessed with Mount Hakodate. Lol
The owner of the guesthouse was a cheerful, talkative man who loved traveling. Lol
Stations stopped: Sapporo → Tomakomai → Higashi-Muroran → Oshamanbe → Hakodate
Total travel time: 412 minutes
