Wrapping up the Journey Around Japan with Udon & Ramen!【37】
Day 18【2014/9/10】
Ehime → Kagawa → Okayama → Hyogo → Kyoto → Gifu → Aichi
The long journey around Japan has finally come to its last day.
We set off at the first train for the first time in a while. Originally, we planned to go around Hokuriku and return to Aichi, but we changed our plans time-wise as we spent too much time at Shimane the previous day.
We head to Kagawa from Matsuyama Station, where the moon is still visible in the slightly dark sky.
The journey to Tadotsu Station, where we changed trains, was a long one, exceeding four hours.
It was already almost noon when we arrived at Takamatsu Station.
We had udon at a noodle shop around the station, mingling with local taxi drivers. Although it was a regular serving, the quantity was large and the egg tempura was delicious.
"Teuchi Udon Misho" is delicious and cheap, and it's close to the station, so I recommend it.
We left Takamatsu and changed trains at Okayama Station for the third time this trip. Like Hakodate Station, I felt at ease when I arrived at Okayama Station, although I had only visited three times.
We changed trains from Aioi to Himeji and got off at Kobe Station. The station was crowded and the town was fashionable, but we hurried on.
The last sightseeing spot is Kyoto. It was my first visit since my junior high school trip.
We took a break at the Kamo River Delta.
We thanked for the safe journey at Shimogamo Shrine and returned to Kyoto Station.
The last meal of the trip was a ramen set meal at Tenkaippin near the station.
It was my first time at Tenichi, but the rich soup was effective for my tired body.
On the train from Kyoto to Aichi, I was spacing out with fatigue and the impatience that the journey would end today.
I might have felt the night without the need to worry about today's lodging or think about tomorrow's schedule tasteless.
Arriving at Toyota City Station and looking up at the sky on the way home, I was gradually realizing that the journey was over.
This is the Seishun 18 Ticket I used this time. Since the West Japan edition, I got off-the-mark, so there are stamps of the station names where I got off in the ticket.
Matsuyama → Tadotsu → Takamatsu → Okayama → Aioi → Himeji → Kobe → Kyoto → Maibara → Ogaki → Kariya → Chiryu → Toyota City
Total travel time: 572 minutes
