Tried various foods, but the best encounter was the convenience store's "Hot Sandwich"【40】
Day 3 in Bangkok【2018/4/30】
I bought breakfast at the Seven Eleven in front of the hotel.
Hot sandwich, Tokyo Banana?, and coffee. In Thai convenience stores, there's a special machine at the counter to warm up the hot sandwich, and they warm it up for you on the spot. There are various types, so I enjoyed different flavors during this trip. The coffee was labeled as black, but it was quite sweet.
The first place I headed to this day was "Let's Relax". It's about a 20-minute walk from Thong Lo station, a facility where you can enjoy a Japanese-style large bath and massages.
I had some time before it opened, so I walked leisurely while chewing gum.
Arriving about 10 minutes before opening, I saw three cheerful ladies, presumably tourists, taking commemorative photos.
I spent about 2 hours relaxing in the sauna and bath.
The facility is located on one floor of a hotel, so it's a bit hard to find, but if you ask the doorman nearby, they kindly guide you.
Now, feeling refreshed after the bath, I walked back to Thong Lo station and from there went to Asok.
Lunch at the food court in Terminal21.
This is one of my favorite places. They blend fresh fruits in a cup on the spot to make juice.
It's Tom Yum Goong Noodles. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the scent of Tom Yum Goong, but it was delicious. You can choose from four types of noodles.
After lunch, I enjoyed shopping at Terminal21. Thailand's shops and trains are very cold, so I looked for another long-sleeve shirt. I found a no-collar shirt from a brand I've never heard of, THE ROOM'S, for 390 Baht. I quite liked it and have been wearing it even after returning to Japan. The fitting was fun as the shop assistant was very friendly.
Wearing my newly bought clothes, I took shelter from the rain at a Starbucks near Asok, and also looked for a good value massage shop around.
Once the rain stopped, I headed to the shop I had found.
massage@Le
This place is reputed for good quality massages at a reasonable price (according to the internet). While I was receiving my treatment, customers kept coming in and the massage therapists were fully occupied.
After the massage, I bought some chocolate snacks to satisfy my small hunger and took a break at the hotel. The texture was like moist chocolate, with white chocolate and matcha chocolate flavors.
When I went out again, it had already gotten dark. I decided to visit Soi Cowboy after a long time.
I just observed the go-go bars from outside, enjoyed the atmosphere, and then went to Terminal21. This shopping mall has long escalators.
Dinner was also at the food court.
Fresh juice, salad, and Pad Thai. When traveling abroad, I tend to lack vegetables, so I consciously had a salad. Pad Thai is my favorite among Thai dishes. It was delicious, but I thought there were a bit too many noodles. Less toppings?
For dessert, I had Khao Niew Mamuang. The mango wasn't as good as the one I had at Mango Tango the previous day, but the rice with coconut milk was delicious.
Even though I was full, I bought milk tablets and almonds at a convenience store on the way back to the hotel. These tablets are a common snack in Thailand. Are they trending?
