Nature Walk in Arashiyama After the Rain 2020/3/8【70】
Day 2 in Kyoto
On a rainy morning, I took a short walk from the hotel to a Starbucks near Karasuma Oike Station.

From inside the store, you can see the Rokkakudo Temple through the large glass windows.

While sipping my coffee, I planned out my sightseeing for the day.
After leaving Starbucks, I headed to a restaurant called Shijo Nishinotoin Shokudo.

You can choose your favorite dishes from many small plates and create your own set meal.
After finishing my meal and returning to the hotel, the rain had stopped.

After a short rest at the hotel, I set out for sightseeing.
I took the Hankyu train, getting off at Arashiyama Station.

I walked a bit towards the mountains to visit Horinji Temple.

The wet stairs after the rain seemed slippery, so I had to be careful not to fall.

From a small elevation, I could get a panoramic view of the surrounding Arashiyama area.

After leaving Horinji Temple, I descended the stairs and crossed the Togetsukyo Bridge.

There seems to be something called the Arashiyama Monkey Park, but I decided to skip it this time.

As I headed towards the Arashiyama Randen Station, the crowd started to thicken.

After crossing the Togetsukyo Bridge, I walked along the Katsura River to the west and visited Tenryuji Temple.

The temple boasts a beautiful garden.

With such abundant nature, the scenery must change dramatically with the seasons.
After leaving Tenryuji, I walked a short distance to the famous bamboo grove of Arashiyama, which I often see on Instagram.

It was crowded, so I couldn't take my time to look around.
It reminded me of my hometown, where bamboo groves were everywhere.
To conclude my Arashiyama sightseeing, I took a stroll around the station area.

Feeling tired, I took a break with some matcha tea.

When I ordered, they whisked the matcha right in front of me.

Compared to the matcha I had yesterday, this one had a smooth and creamy taste.

I returned to my hotel in the city center by the Randen train, marking the end of the day's sightseeing.

Ah, back to work tomorrow.
