Ending Kyoto with eating, drinking, and more eating 2020/3/22【73】
Day 5 in Kyoto
On the last day of the three-day weekend, Sunday.
After walking around for sightseeing on Friday and Saturday, we were tired, so we decided to take it easy in the city on this day.
We had a light breakfast at the hotel and headed to Nishiki Market.
It seems that you could originally eat and walk in Nishiki Market, but due to the effects of COVID-19, there were signs posted not to eat or drink while standing.
We followed a list of shops we had researched in advance and ate the notable gourmet foods.
■ Yuba Cream Croquette
It's freshly fried with a crispy batter, wrapped around a sweet yuba cream.
■ Octopus with Quail Egg
A small octopus head topped with a quail egg.
■ Dashi Rolled Omelette
An omelette from an egg shop.
■ Hamo Tempura
Freshly fried thick hamo. They fried it after we ordered.
■ Soy Milk Soft Serve
A dessert that's not too sweet, perfect for after a meal.
After getting full, we walked to Sanjo for some exercise and took a break at Starbucks.
You can see the Kamo River right in front of this Starbucks.
After relaxing with a coffee for a while, we decided to head back to the city.
In a back alley, we found a Japanese confectionery shop called "Koufukudo" and ended up buying some dango.
■ Mitarashi Dango
The freshly grilled mitarashi dango was chewy and delicious.
For dinner, we went back to Nishiki Market.
■ Soy Milk
We had unadjusted soy milk from the shop where we bought the soy milk soft serve at noon.
■ Minced Meat Cutlet
The minced meat from the butcher shop is always reliable.
After dinner, we had matcha at "nana's green tea".
And so, the last day of our Kyoto trip ended with eating and drinking...
