【Impressions】
It was a slightly cool weekday evening in early October.
I visited Japan's first solo sauna, which I had been wanting to try for a while.

I had made a reservation the day before and had already paid by credit card.
The facility has a sauna, hotel, and cafe, so at first glance, you wouldn't think there's a sauna.
After checking in at the entrance and providing my name, I received a brief explanation.
Even though I arrived before my reserved time, they let me in since everything was ready.
I was guided to one of the several private rooms, where I brought in my belongings and shoes.
The room was dimly lit and cozy, but it had a chic atmosphere and was very clean.

After placing my belongings and changing, I rinsed off in the shower before heading to the sauna.

The sauna room felt spacious for one person.
There's also a pillow, so you can lie down.
You can also do a self-löyly (throwing water on the sauna stones), so you can adjust the heat.
The room's thermometer was around 90 degrees Celsius, but with repeated löyly, it felt close to 100 degrees.
I left after about 10 minutes for my first set.
Since there's no cold bath, I took a cold shower.
The ice-cold shower was more effective than I expected.

After the shower, I dried off with a towel and sat on a relaxation chair.

Since it's a private room, you can relax without worrying about others.
After about 10 minutes of rest, I rehydrated. I had bought water from a nearby convenience store.
Before heading to my second set, I played music on the iPad provided in the room.

I shuffled and played an album by The Beatles from the extensive song list.
For the sauna, I went in for about 10 minutes again, followed by a cold shower and relaxation.
For the third and fourth sets, I shortened my sauna time but increased the heat with löyly.
After finishing the fourth set, I had about 15 minutes left, so I washed up, dried off, and changed. I also dried my hair.
It seems that men can use the powder room if there are no female customers.

There were a few points of concern.
First, even though it's a private room, you can hear voices and noises from outside.
Visually, you're not bothered by others since it's a private room, but I was distracted by the sound of people walking in the hallway, voices from outside, and possibly noises from other rooms.
Next, I felt there weren't enough towels.
There's one bath towel and one face towel, as well as a towel for drying your feet.
However, with repeated sauna and shower sessions, the towels couldn't absorb the moisture fast enough, and the room's floor became wet.
Lastly, a personal issue, but playing music might have prevented me from fully focusing on the sauna experience.
When my favorite songs kept playing, I got excited and wanted to hum along. Haha.
Being able to have the sauna all to yourself comes at a higher price, but if you want to relax without worrying about others, it's worth the cost.
With the recent sauna boom, especially in Tokyo, saunas tend to be crowded, so if you can afford the time and money, I highly recommend visiting.
