Enjoying Breathtaking Views in Jiufen and Gourmet Delights at the Night Market【2】
Day 2 in Taipei【2017/9/24】
The weather forecast predicted rain for this day too, but it was sunny from morning till evening.
Looking at the view from the window, I felt the reality of being overseas.
For breakfast, I had three slices of bread provided by the guesthouse. There were four types of jam, so I tried them all. The yellow coconut one was delicious.
The first place I headed to on this day was,
"Taipei 101"
It was around 10 AM, but there were already some tourists around.
I thought it was tall, but since I wasn't very interested, I didn't go up and headed to the next destination instead.
"Jiufen" (Kyufun)
This place, said to be a model for "Spirited Away," was the main purpose of this trip.
I spent a leisurely time eating and drinking until it got dark.
The cafe that served these waffles was always full, and I waited for about 15 minutes.
There are several dialects in China. The staff had assigned dialects, and depending on the tourists coming in, they would have exchanges like "It's your turn!" among themselves every time.
To me, they all sounded like the same language though...
I changed shops and waited for the night to come.
This is a famous tea house called "Amei Teahouse" (Ameo Cha).
Miraculously, I was guided to an outside seat and could enjoy tea while looking at the breathtaking view.
As the sun set, the scenery turned into a fantastical world like that of a movie.
As the lanterns lit up, the number of tourists increased.
