First landing in the Baltic States, starting from Warsaw to Vilnius, December 2023【106】
2023/12/30 Warsaw → Vilnius
Intended to wake up at 6 am, but due to a mistake with the alarm, woke up at 7 am.
Hurried for the hotel breakfast.
Walked to the Warsaw West Bus Station in the aftermath of the rain.
Boarded the FlixBus at platform number 8.
The bus stopped about five times along the way and arrived in Vilnius after an 8-hour journey.
Definitely felt tired from sitting for so long.
Hurried to the hotel and checked in.
Bought lunch and dinner at a supermarket in front of the hotel.
Purchased some unfamiliar fried meats, something like croquettes, sweets, and juice.
The sweets were like Baumkuchen and tasty but quite a lot in quantity.
Felt unwell and it was raining, so I didn't do any sightseeing and just went to bed for the day.
2023/12/31 Vilnius
The second morning in Vilnius.
Woke up at 8 am and ate the leftovers from the previous day for breakfast.
Set out on foot for sightseeing from the hotel.
The Zemach Shabad monument.
The market.
The Gates of Dawn.
St. Casimir's Church.
The Old Town Hall.
St. Anne's Church.
Walking around in temperatures around 0 degrees Celsius, it was cold, so I took a break at a cafe.
A girl doing a fundraising activity for Ukraine in front of the cafe left a lasting impression.
Vilnius Cathedral
The Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania was free on Sunday.
Gediminas' Tower
The view from the hilltop was magnificent.
Užupis
Had lunch at a cafe.
Returned to the hotel for a rest and some exercise.
Went out into the city at night.
The Old Town was bustling with many people due to the end of the year.
Bought some snacks at a supermarket and returned to the hotel.
There were fireworks at the stroke of midnight for the New Year, but I was feeling unwell and rested in bed.
