"Coffee" and "Travel"
I will summarize my own thoughts regarding this relationship.
"Coffee at Cafés"
It's a heartwarming series of comics.
It's easy to read as it consists of short stories. Characters from one story appear somewhere in the next. The soft touch of the drawings and the easy-to-understand stories make it perfect for a breather.
"Coffee Time"
It's also a heartwarming series of comics.
The continuity of short stories is the same, but each story does not have continuity. Characters appearing somewhere may appear in other stories. Stylish stories that stimulate the creative part are never boring to read.
I often drink black coffee on holidays. The first sip in the morning of a holiday is one of the most comforting moments. Honestly, I don't understand the aroma and flavor of coffee well. For health reasons, I try not to add sugar or milk as much as possible.
Even so, I often drink coffee while traveling. The reasons are as follows.
① Switching to holiday mode
Since I have a habit of drinking coffee on holidays, drinking coffee switches me to holiday mode. It's a means to disconnect my mind and body from work and enjoy the trip with all my might.
② Befriending locals
I believe that experiences in cafes are one of the essences of travel.
In chain stores like Starbucks, there are many young people, and you can feel the local trends. In privately owned shops, you can feel the atmosphere of local history and traditions.
Above all, many cafe staff are friendly, and if you get along, they become good conversation partners. It allows you to feel the connection with people, which is often lost during solo travel.
Depending on the place and people, in Thailand, I was served with a smile in every cafe. Even convenience store staff were friendly. When I bought breakfast every day, they became familiar and started talking to me around the fifth day.
③ Wi-Fi
I often use local Wi-Fi without contracting for pocket Wi-Fi or SIM for travel. I don't want to incur extra costs, and I don't feel the need to communicate that much at the destination.
Even so, when I suddenly want to look something up or get in touch, I go into a cafe and use their Wi-Fi.
I will conclude the coffee talk by listing some coffee-related experiences with photos. I hope to add more sequentially in the future.
● Starbucks at Taipei Station
It's Starbucks' cold brew. I had time before my flight, so I was killing time while looking around the station.
● ArtisCoffee in Bangkok
It's an Americano I had at ArtisCoffee near Asok station. I was so full that I couldn't move, so I was taking a break and thinking about what to do and where to go next.
● AfterYou in Bangkok
It's an Americano I had at a cafe about a 15-minute walk from Thong Lo station. I ordered coffee to accompany the honey toast I was eyeing.
