【Impressions】
It was the first day of summer vacation.
It was scorching during the day, making it hard to walk, but the evening was pleasant.
I wanted to go to the sauna after two weeks, so I took a bus to Shinjuku.
My destination was "Thermae-Yu," which I had visited several times before the pandemic.
I got off at the Shinjuku 5-chome bus stop and arrived in about 5 minutes on foot.
I stored my shoes in a shoe locker, chose a course at the reception, and received a wristband, indoor wear, and a towel set.

You manage the key to the shoe locker until you leave.
There are lockers on the same floor as the reception, so I stored my belongings in a locker with the same number as my wristband and changed clothes.

After changing into the indoor wear, I went up to the second floor with just a towel.
There are also lockers in the changing room of the bath area, so I stored my towel and indoor wear and headed to the bath.
The bath area was spacious and had various facilities, which was exciting just to look at.
After washing my body in the shower, I immediately went to the sauna room.
It has three tiers and can accommodate about 20 people if packed.
There was a large TV, so time flew by.
The room temperature was around 90 degrees Celsius, but maybe because it was a scorching day, I got hot quickly and left after about 10 minutes during my first session.
The cold bath is located diagonally to the right from the entrance of the sauna room.
I rinsed off my sweat and entered the cold bath.
It was deep enough for about six people, and I think the temperature was in the mid-10s (Celsius).
I soaked for about a minute and then headed to the open-air bath area.
There were several relaxation chairs, but most of them were occupied.
I was lucky to find an empty one, but I couldn't relax and went back inside after about 10 minutes.
After rehydrating at the water dispenser, I went for my second session.
For the second session, I entered another mist sauna.
Salt was placed in the back, so I applied it to my body and sweated for about 10 minutes.
I entered the cold bath for a minute, and when I went to the open-air area, all the chairs were occupied, so I went to the lying bath.
I relaxed for about 10 minutes, but I still couldn't get comfortable.
After rehydrating, I went back to the dry sauna.
This time, I stayed for 12 minutes, soaked in the cold bath for 2 minutes, and then went for an outdoor break.
I sat on a chair and felt refreshed after about 10 minutes.
I wanted to stay longer, but it was getting late, so I washed my body and left the bath area.
There were many hairdryers, and amenities like lotion and emulsion were also well-stocked.

After changing and drying my hair, I retrieved my belongings from the locker and paid at the reception.
My home is nearby, so I took a bus back, looking forward to enjoying the rock bath next time.

By the way, it was my first time in Shinjuku in a while, and I was surprised to see many people and open shops even after 22:00.
Thermae-Yu is generally clean, well-equipped with amenities, and offers massages, beauty treatments, dining, and relaxation areas. I think it's a very comprehensive facility.

However, perhaps due to the recent sauna boom or the summer vacation effect, there were several groups of students, and the crowd and conversations were a bit distracting.
The location is excellent, so the price is high, but if you use a coupon on weekdays, it's within an acceptable range. I'd like to revisit when I can take paid leave.
