[Impressions]
Since Tuesday was a national holiday (National Foundation Day), I took paid leave on Monday and made it a 4-day weekend.
Wanting to take advantage of a weekday off, I decided to visit “Kin no Kame,” a sauna I had long wanted to try.
I went to the gym in the morning, and headed to the facility on an empty stomach.
I arrived around 2 PM and tried to buy the sauna meal set at reception, but found out that the restaurant would be on break from 2:40 PM.
So, I decided to eat first before going into the sauna.
After handing over my ticket on the 1st floor and waiting, the ginger pork set meal was served right away.

It was a delicious sauna meal with plenty of ginger.
The portion size was generous too.
After eating, I headed to the sauna on the 2nd floor.
I changed in the locker room, washed in the bath area, and entered the sauna.

I entered just after a löyly session, and it felt well over 100°C.
Unable to endure the heat, I stepped out after about 7 minutes.
The cold bath is fairly spacious.

It’s a cold bath infused with ginger.
After the cold bath, I went up to the 3rd floor relaxation area.
The dimly lit room is lined with chairs and beds.

Since it had been a while since my last sauna, I felt great even from the first set.
After resting for about 10 minutes, I completed my second and third sets.
You can drink regular water, but they also provide ginger water.
There are ginger cubes available (one per person), and eating one warms you up from the inside.
They also had ginger miso soup, which they recommended drinking before your final relaxation set.
Finally, after rinsing off, drying, and changing, I went to the vanity area, where I found a wide variety of skincare and haircare products.
At last, I was able to visit Kin no Kame—and it was absolutely fantastic.
The ginger pork was delicious, the sauna facilities were excellent, and the ginger effect warmed me up from the inside out.
Akasaka has many saunas, but this one is filled with unique touches you won’t find anywhere else. Highly recommended.
