Hawaii Travel Diary in January: Enjoying the Tropical Vibes Even in Winter! January 2025 【120】
January in Hawaii
In January, when Japan reaches the peak of winter, I flew to the warm paradise of Hawaii. Even in winter, the temperature stays around 25°C, making it a comfortable and perfect trip greeted by blue skies and the ocean.
Tourist Spots
Waikiki Beach

The first place I visited upon arrival was Waikiki Beach, a classic Hawaiian destination with soft sandy shores and a beautiful sea. I walked barefoot on the sand and relaxed while gazing at the ocean.
Diamond Head

I hiked up Diamond Head, an iconic symbol of Hawaii. After a 30-minute trail, I was rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of Waikiki and the ocean. The sunrise was absolutely stunning.
Food
Loco Moco Bowl

A juicy hamburger patty covered in rich gravy sauce with a soft-boiled egg—Loco Moco is truly Hawaii’s soul food.
Hamburger

A thick, juicy patty paired perfectly with soft buns and rich cheese—this was the ultimate Hawaiian-style hearty burger.
Tacos

I enjoyed fresh seafood tacos. The spicy sauce paired beautifully with plump shrimp, making it the perfect match for a cold beer.
Malasadas

These donuts were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I tried two flavors—custard and chocolate—both were delicious.
Shopping
Ala Moana Shopping Center

At Ala Moana Center, I bought Hawaii-exclusive items and souvenirs. On my last evening in Waikiki, I watched the sunset and reminisced about my trip, wishing to return someday.
Honolulu Cookies

A must-buy souvenir! Made with high-quality ingredients, these cookies have a unique taste unlike any other.

The weather in January was perfect, allowing me to escape Japan’s winter and fully enjoy my trip. From beaches and hiking to food and even sauna experiences, my journey was packed with excitement! Next time, I’d love to visit another Hawaiian island. I highly recommend experiencing Hawaii in winter!
