I visited the three major temples in Thailand for the first shrine visit of 2018【5】
Day 2 in Bangkok【2018/1/1】
Morning in Bangkok.
I wake up early in the morning as I am curious to see the local morning scene.
I was relaxing at the cafe attached to the guesthouse.
"Coffee and breakfast set" ・The coffee was decent ・The bread was over-toasted and crispy ・The omelette was rough lol
Overall, it was neither good nor bad.
After the meal, off to the sightseeing spots by ferry!
"Khaosan Road"
While wandering around, I realized that coming in sandals was a mistake. I ended up walking 30,000 steps on this day alone... The daytime Khaosan Road lacked excitement, so I quickly moved on to the next sightseeing spot!
"Wat Phra Karo"
"Wat Pho"
"Wat Arun"
The first shrine visit of 2018 was at the "Three Major Temples" lol
Perhaps due to the New Year, there were many people, and walking under the scorching sun in sandals was really tiring. It was too hot to feel hungry, so I cooled down with coconut ice cream.
The ice cream was sweet and delicious. The coconut was tasteless? but the texture was crunchy and tasty.
I went to "RiverCity" by ferry, and from there I returned to the guesthouse for a while.
On the way, I ate "Roti" (Thai-style crepe with banana). It was very sweet and oily.
I was tired so the sweet taste was soothing.
When I got back to the guesthouse, I thought about the next plan while drinking iced coffee.
Coffee is delicious even overseas. Although I don't really understand the difference in taste and aroma...
After a break at the cafe, I head to Asok station. The destination is,
"Soi Cowboy"
It still lacked excitement, so I waited until it got dark for dinner.
The station building directly connected to Asok station,
"Terminal21"
Crab fried rice and Tom Yum Goong
Maybe because I was hungry, the photos are blurry lol
The fried rice was especially delicious. The grainy feel of Thai rice suited me. Tom Yum Goong was spicy. I'm not a fan of its unique aroma.
I realized during this trip that people openly eat and drink the food and beverages they bring in. At this time, I was also drinking bottled water that I bought at a convenience store.
When I headed to Soi Cowboy again, the atmosphere was clearly different from 1 or 2 hours ago.
I was continuously approached by erotic ladies from both sides of the street and was quite startled. I just observed the go-go bars from outside and went back for the day.
When I got back, there was a sweets stall in front of the guesthouse. An old lady was toasting bread? on an iron plate? and spreading jam? on it. Basically, it was about 25 yen per piece, and depending on the jam, it was about 35 yen.
