Delicious Mysterious Juice and Gapao Rice Eaten at the Night Market【6】
Day 3 in Bangkok【2018/1/2】
Relaxing in a cafe from early morning again today.
Bought breakfast at Seven Eleven: ・Roll cake ・Sandwich ・Milk
They all tasted not much different from Japan and were delicious.
Since I hadn't recovered from yesterday's fatigue, I bought a Thai Red Bull.
This Red Bull felt more like medicine rather than the usual canned juice I drink. Somehow it felt effective, and I liked it.
Apparently, the original Red Bull is a Thai refreshment drink called Krating Daeng. (I was told by a hairdresser in Japan)
After breakfast, while doing laundry at the guesthouse, I had a light conversation with a young man staying in the same room.
- His name is Eric From Canada, planning to head to Chiang Mai in a few days Staying in Bangkok for a while but has no plans
(Could this be...)
I invited him, "Would you like to go sightseeing together?"
As if he had been waiting, he happily said OK. We talked a bit more after that.
- He's going to Japan in a few months Wants to eat conveyor belt sushi in Japan He has a girlfriend Plans to buy a Comme des Garçons T-shirt for her in Japan Where can he buy a Comme des Garçons T-shirt? ............(We talked about various other things.)
After the conversation, we exchanged Facebook accounts and parted for a while. To be precise, he went out.
"The washing machine still has nearly an hour left, and I'll use the dryer afterward, can you wait for a while?" I asked, and that's why he left.
Once the laundry was done, off to sightseeing.
"Yaowarat Road"
It was about a 15-minute walk from the guesthouse. The whole area is Chinatown. It was bustling with tourists enjoying Chinese cuisine and locals. There were also many people of Indian descent around, creating an atmosphere unlike Thailand.
There are quiet streets a little off the main road.
While peeking at families enjoying lunch together, I headed back to the guesthouse.
Where yesterday's Roti stall was, today there was a mysterious juice stall.
It's a drink with colorful jelly-like substances in sweet milk. It felt very delicious, perhaps because of the heat.
While drinking the juice, I contacted Eric and made a promise to have dinner together.
Since there was time until dinner, I went a bit far to "Phrom Phong".
I strolled around Phrom Phong station and took a break in a luxurious-looking building called "EmQuartier".
Since I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast, I had a salad at a cafe. (Tendency to take blurry photos when hungry)
The coffee was delicious as always, and the salad tasted mostly of cheese.
Since there was still time, I killed time at a massage shop.
Phrom Phong is famous for its 'that kind' of massage shops catering to Japanese. The shop I visited this time was also...
The meeting place at 19:00 was,
"Rod Fai Market2"
We were supposed to go for dinner together, but due to various circumstances, I ended up eating alone.
This was a slightly stylish night market where you could both eat and shop.
While enjoying the atmosphere of the night market, I ate takeout "Gapao Rice" and "Khanom Buang" (Thai sweets).
When I returned to the guesthouse, the old lady's stall was there again today.
I had her spread some unfamiliar jam? By the way, you can also have this bread cut into smaller pieces.
After ordering, she would ask, "Cut?" Since I had it cut every night, on the last day, she cut it without asking.
