Relaxing in a sauna after a tiring visit to Byodo-in's Phoenix Hall 2020/3/20【71】
Day 3 in Kyoto
Starting from last weekend and spanning a few weekdays, it's the third day of sightseeing in Kyoto.
I stayed at the "Karasuma Kyoto Hotel" this week.
I contemplated the day's plans while sipping morning coffee at the Starbucks on the first floor.
Today, I headed south through the city to Uji.
I walked from the station towards the Uji River.
Walking along the Sawarabi path, I came across the Uji Shrine.
There's also the Uji Kami Shrine nearby.
I strolled around Uji Park and headed to the main destination, Byodo-in's Phoenix Hall.
I wonder if this boat is always in motion.
I finally got to see the real structure depicted on the ten-yen coin.
It was smaller than I had imagined.
On the way back to the station, I stopped by Tsujiri to get some authentic tea to take away, and sipped it as I returned to the city.
For lunch, I went to "Kyosai Aji no Mura".
It's fun to choose your own small dishes, and above all, they're delicious.
After lunch, I headed to "Sauna no Ume-yu" near Kiyomizu-Gojo.
Kyoto has many traditional public baths and saunas that you can enter for just a coin, which is perfect for sauna enthusiasts.
After a refreshing bath, I took a walk and bought some deli items from a supermarket before heading back to the hotel.
