Exploring the town of Shizuoka in bloom with cherry blossoms and searching for souvenirs 2022/3/20【82】

The final day of our Yaizu trip.

Waking up to the beautiful sunrise right in front of our room felt truly luxurious.

This trip was my first time taking a morning bath, and it was the busiest time during our stay.

After the bath, we went to the breakfast buffet and ate to our heart's content. The buffet venue offers a fantastic view of the sea from the window-side seats.

After breakfast, we got ready in our room and checked out. We reserved a shuttle bus at checkout and headed to Yaizu Station, then transferred trains to Shizuoka Station.

We decided to explore the city of Shizuoka before heading back to Tokyo.

The Shizuoka Oden Festival was taking place, and the area was bustling with people seeking Shizuoka oden. (There were so many people that I became concerned about the risk of COVID-19 transmission...)

After lunch, we savored matcha and roasted green tea gelato at "Nanaya." I had been curious about it due to the hometown tax donation program, and the intense bitterness and sweetness of the matcha met my expectations. I finished it in no time.

The cherry blossoms were in bloom at Sunpu Castle, and with the good weather, it felt very pleasant.

After buying tea leaves at a tea shop, we were treated to a complimentary cup of tea. Shizuoka's tea is indeed delicious.

After all that, we bought souvenirs at Shizuoka Station and headed back to Tokyo.
