Touring Vienna's palaces and city under the blazing sun. August 2023【97】
I traveled to Vienna and Prague over 3 nights and 4 days.

I flew from London to Vienna and took a train from the airport to the city.

I got off at the Landstraße station and walked to the hotel.

The building where the hotel is located is artistic.

After checking in and dropping off my luggage, I went out.
Although my flight was delayed by about 2 hours and it was already past 4 pm, the weather was good and bright.

The Hofburg

Parliament

Rathausplatz

A film festival was being held.
There were stalls selling drinks and various foods, and many people were enjoying themselves outdoors.

Vienna has beautiful streets, and you can see magnificent buildings here and there.

That day, I had Wiener Schnitzel with beer.

The salty meat and fried food paired perfectly with the beer.
When I went outside, it had gotten dark, and there was an organization supporting Ukraine active in the square.

I enjoyed some ice cream in the evening breeze and returned to the hotel.

Day Two
I purchased a 24-hour ticket at the subway station.

Immediately after, I headed to the Café Sacher via subway.

It's the well-known café where the Sacher Torte originated.

Amidst its luxurious interiors and wonderful service, I enjoyed a set of coffee, water, and a Sacher Torte.

Both the cake and whipped cream were not overly sweet, making them easy to eat.
While drinking coffee, I checked the plans for the day.
Today, I'll visit two places I booked the previous night.
Schloss Belvedere: Belvedere Palace

I arrived around 10 o'clock and waited for the entrance time while strolling through the gardens.

The museum was filled with highlights, including Klimt's "The Kiss" and paintings of Napoleon.

After leaving the museum, I headed back to the city and went to a place called Cafe Diglas.

I had a set of pumpkin soup and lasagna.

Both had a deep flavor that revealed the care put into them.
After the meal, I headed by train to
Schloss Schönbrunn: Schönbrunn Palace.

Photography was not allowed inside, so there are no photos.
I spent about an hour touring around 40 rooms with an audio guide.
After touring the palace interior, I strolled through the gardens.

Climbing the stairs and slopes of the vast garden, you'll arrive at Gloriette Schönbrunn.

It offers a breathtaking view overlooking the palace and the city of Vienna.

Walking continuously under the near 30-degree Celsius temperature and sun, I was completely exhausted.
Heading back to the city, I stopped at the first cafe I saw.

I tried the Austrian specialty, Kaiserschmarrn.

I proceeded to eat it with berry jam, but the portion was so large that I struggled to finish it.
Unusually, this cafe had effective air conditioning, which allowed for a pleasant break.

Afterwards, I walked along the river and through the city until it cooled down, enjoying my last night in Vienna.
